MATERNAL WARNING SIGNS EDUCATION
Pregnancy complications can happen during pregnancy and up to a year after giving birth. Although most pregnancies are healthy, complications can happen to anyone, so all pregnant and postpartum people and their families should learn the warning signs. MDMOM is partnering with community-based organizations to support warning signs education in Maryland.

MDMOM developed a 1.5-hr online training for home visitors, doulas, and other community health workers and a client education toolkit with a 3-min video (shown above), illustrated handout, magnet, and discussion guide to teach about urgent maternal warning signs. MDMOM uses the 15 urgent maternal warning signs identified by the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) and used with their permission in MDMOM training and materials. Access the MDMOM training and toolkit below. For other great tools to help patients advocate for their health concerns, visit BIRTH Equity Maryland, CDC Hear Her, and MDMOM's maternalwarningsigns.org.
