Beth Stierman, PhD, MPH

Dr. Stierman is a public health scientist with expertise in program evaluation, implementation research, and quality improvement. Her research focuses on developing and evaluating approaches to improve quality of care; to address social, structural, and health system determinants of health; and to advance equity in maternal and child health. As an advisor and consultant, Dr. Stierman has collaborated with public health agencies and civil society organizations to design, implement, and evaluate health programs in a variety of domestic and international settings. In her work with MDMOM, she co-leads, together with Baltimore Healthy Start colleagues, a statewide initiative to provide home visitors with training and tools to educate families about the warning signs of maternal complications during pregnancy and the year after delivery.
